Thinking Outside the Box
Sarah BradleyEmployee Campaign Coordinator, Metlife
Sarah Bradley is a Supervisor, Employee Engagement Coordinator at MetLife in Tulsa. And, as such, she leads the MetLife United Way Campaign.
“My goal in serving on the United Way Campaign Committee at our organization was to better engage in the community,” said Sarah.
Sarah’s group led events to raise money including bake sales and a basket auction. But Sarah had a larger goal in mind.
“I wanted our employees to know what’s going on in the community and how we can help. I wanted to get the word out about how people are affected by the United Way.”
So, they held an agency fair that included 10 United Way partner agencies.
“We brought in agencies that we thought might assist our employees – services that they could use,” said Sarah.
The MetLife campaign increased by 39 percent overall.
“It was exhausting, but worth it,” said Sarah of her experience as an Employee Campaign Coordinator.
As for advice for others, Sarah shares, “creativity is key: come up with outside-the-box ideas.”
